Where we came from

Campus Books (formerly Campus Classics) was started on Oct 9, 2001. It has grown from a small- scale student service to a high quality tertiary bookstore covering the whole of Northland's tertiary textbook needs. It supplies titles not only to Students but also to Libraries, Schools and the General Public. The bookshop offers a realistic alternative to the major players in the book world by providing friendly, cost effective, personal service and Beth the manager has become quite an expert at sourcing "hard to find" textbooks.

Campus Books works closely with NorthTec tutors before each semester starts to source the correct book for the course. Beth also produces booklists that detail the course name and the text associated with it, recommended reading, plus the student-discounted price.

The shop is based in the heart of NorthTec next to the staff room and stocks a large range of Academic texts for the Polytechnic courses. They can order any text you require at no extra cost.A student discount of 10% is offered.

Campus Books was originally set up conjunction with the NorthTec as an on-site service to the Polytechnic students who were struggling to obtain their textbooks. Staff and students now have a quality tertiary bookstore on site.

Beth has a history in the book trade and cut her teeth with London Bookshops and then Assistant Manager at Whitcoulls.

The bookshop is open daily 8.30 am to 4.00 pm Mon. - Thur. and 8.30 am to 3.00 pm on Fridays. If you can't make it during those hours give Beth a call on 09 4302347 and she can normally organise to stay open for you.
